House description

On the way of famous Saint Jacques de compostela path and the heart of a regional park, an old house has been completely restored and extended to offer today a spectacular terrace facing the Allier valley.
It is in the village of Saint Privat d'Allier, at the foot of a rocky outcrop with its castle that clings this unusual building made from lava stone. The village lies on the road to Saint Jacques de Compostela trail, and is also often the first stop, after the departure from Le Puy en Velay at 20 km.
Many cultural discoveries are accessible in the near environment : the picturesque town of Le Puy whose site is among one of the most beautiful in Europe, the feudal fortress of Polignac, castles of Bouzols and Rochelambert, the Conservatory of lace, the lentil farm. But it is also and above all for its nature related activities this house turns out to be a small wonder : the nautic base of Monistrol d'Allier at 4 kms offers whitewater sports with rafting, canoeing, canyoning. At 10 km, a Via Ferrata offers a ropes course between hiking and climbing above the gorges of the Allier river. The hikers will find there many starting spots for walks of any length and any difficulties. This bucolic spirit mains in the house with lovely view over the valley from the sofa in living room. A large meadow of 5000 m2 with fruit trees extends to the terrace and offers a perfect playground for children in search of space.
The 100m² house is comfortably equipped for 6/7 people. It was restored with a sure taste and now offers a contemporary decoration in a spirit of countryside vintage. Volumes are atypical and materials are natural. Lava stone and wood have been honored and value. They bring a lot of heat.
On ground floor: a spacious living / dining / kitchen area of 30 m², a panoramic terrace of 15 m², 1 kingsize bedroom overlooking the valley with private shower room, separate toilet, a small lounge, a mezzanine accessible with 1 single bed for a child.
On the first floor of the loft : a twin bedroom and 1 independant shower room with toilet.
On the second floor of the loft : a double beroom in a row.
